Anant Fellowship, 2018
Anant National University

Project Description:

The Anant Fellowship is a One Year fulltime Post-Graduate Program. Designed as a multi-disciplinary immersion, the Fellowship introduces young practitioners and students to new ideas, knowledge and skills to question, evaluate, and intervene meaningfully in India’s complex built environments.

Tasks:

Assisting groups in their Live-Action Project, identifying support faculty for various teams, developing evaluation parameters, individual/group discussions and mentoring etc

Anant Fellows (AFs) work in teams through the duration of the year for the Live Action Project (LAP) to address a real-life challenge deeply embedded in a specific community or a broader built-environment related challenge/issue.

Below are examples of 3 different teams  from their Live Action Projects.

Community participatory design exercise carried out by the Thaltej C.O.W.S group fellows. The exercise was aimed for the community to re-imagine the waste dumping ground located at the entrance of their housing colony.

The dumping ground was a source for infestation, cows, disease and pollution creating a dangerously unhealthy environment for the community members. The workshop mainly invited the community women, since primary survey showed they were high contributes to the dump site by throwing household waste.

Bopal Lake Live-Action Project

This particular team was focusing on identifying the present condition of the lake, its various stakeholders and reviving the importance of the lake for the community members.

Shaktinagar Live-Action Project

This team had chosen a small  urban village which was facing eviction from their area due to construction of a road. The team documented the growth of the neighborhood and was trying to understand the complex tenure conditions in the community.
